Really it's true Vectorworks will send you a copy of the program and send you the serial code for the educational version of this powerful software. So while your in school trying to pay for books and other such supplies you can take have to by this wonderful program off of your list of things to purchase.
If you visit student.myvectorworks.com you can will be asked to make a log in, and given the choice to download the program immediately or have it sent to you on dvd-rom. Personally I would rather have the program sent to me rather than to wait for the whole program to download from the web. And every year you are in school you will be given a serial number that unlocks the program for a long enough time for it to be used during your studies.
So my advice to you as a student myself, is to go on to the website get your FREE copy of Vectorworks 2009 and start doing what you all do best.
